Early in the morning, daring participants started to gather at the venue of the race. There were exactly 300 more competitors than in last year's race. As a result of the heavy rain on the previous day, competitors faced the challenge of a muddy and slippery track, although the first race could start in the sunshine. Men’s, women’s and children’s individual races were held in the morning with a total of 356 participants. In the afternoon the team's categories took place with 264 competitors, and finally the
Dogs Cross race was held with 96 dogs and their owners. More than fifty students and staff members of Kaposvár University were among the participants of individual and team competitions.
Since obstacle course race was included among the official sports of the Hungarian University and College Sports Association (MEFOB) in 2018, this year for the second time Hungarian University Champions were crowned from participants representing 11 different Hungarian universities. Brigitta Koplányi from Kaposvár University finished 5th in the women's individual MEFOB category, while Bence Szerb won the bronze medal in the men’s individual race. They also received the special prize for the fastest Kaposvár female and male university student. In the MEFOB team competition, the 3rd place was won by the 4 person team of Kaposvár University called “HegyiKEcskék” (Boglárka Szerb, Virág Ács, Mihály Oszoli and Bence Szerb were the members).
The fastest professor of Kaposvár University was Dr Zsolt Matics, associate professor at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, while from the staff members of Kaposvár University the team of the Sports Office (Dr Eszter Szabó, Petra Fodor-Varga, András Faludy and Áron Vönöczky) clinched the silver medal. Absolute winners of the race were Dr Veronika Szabó (women’s individual), Csáki Ákos Péter (men’s individual) and Péter Miklós with his dog named Zoé (Dogs Cross).
